Musician Sy Thang's full name is Phung Sy Thang, he was born and raised on the land of Doai where there is Tan mountain and Da river. After graduating from the Composition Department of the National Academy of Music, from 1971 to 1976 he joined the army. After changing majors, he worked at the cultural branch of Tinh Hoa Binh, the provincial Literature and Art Association. Here, he actively participated in the Music Composition Camps organized by the Province and the Central Government, writing many works to serve the people of different ethnic groups Hoa Binh province. Along with that is organizing programs to exchange, organize concerts, music clubs, open creative camps for members in Hoa Binh.
Later, he moved back to Ha Nam to work in Ha Nam until now, in his native land of Ha Nam he has also composed many beautiful and profound works praising the land as well as the people in it. Ha Nam left many impressions for the audience.
