Vu Thanh An succeeded in making his first song. In 1965, he released the song "First Love Song", poem Nguyen Dinh Toan. The audience received it warmly. In the following years, he wrote many other Untitled Articles.

After that, he was taught by Father Tran Duc Huynh, director of Hung Dao School, to teach the Seventh class to have money to attend university.
At the end of 1963, musician Vu Thanh An returned to work as a reporter for Saigon Radio.
In 1967, Vu Thanh An enlisted in the 25th class of Thu Duc Reserve Officers.
In 1971, Vu Thanh An graduated from Saigon Law University. He continued to work at Saigon radio station with the rank of officer, and held many positions: Head of Gia Dinh mass mobilization facility 1973, Head of Cultural Division, Assistant Program Head, Program Head and Head of Division of Broadcasting Systems Planning 1974.
