Le Van Kiet is a talented director. Although it is not a famous name like some other overseas Vietnamese directors, the audience can still see the positive changes of this 7X director from the films he made such as "The Golden Star". house in the alley", "Tenderness"... and recently the hit movie "Hai Phuong". During his filmmaking career, he has had two uncensored films, "Each Zombie" and "Level 3 Trap".
After a period of absence from the film industry, Le Van Kiet has put all of his heart into implementing the project "Hai Phuong", a reunion with the "female" Ngo Thanh Van. This project is considered a strong step forward in the directorial career of Le Van Kiet, and also an affirmation of the boldness of Vietnamese cinema.
"Hai Phuong" is not a work" easy to eat", because the physical facilities to make action movies in Vietnam are really difficult. To stage "Hai Phuong", director Le Van Kiet had to balance a lot of things, besides there were pressures on facilities, time pressure, or incidents that happened while making the film.
The movie "Hai Phuong" revolves around the journey of a mother (played by Ngo Thanh Van) who confronts gangsters to regain her kidnapped child. In Vietnam, this film achieved a revenue of 150 billion VND, is one of the most popular films in the history of the Vietnamese box office (After "Crab back pregnant wife" and "I'm not 18").
While "Captain Marve" just hit theaters on March 7, won big with $ 153 million, it is currently the leading film in the US. According to Box Office Mojo, "Hai Phuong" increased by 5% in revenue in the second week of its release, ranked 25th, up two places compared to the previous week. The movie "Hai Phuong" is currently being screened at 28 theaters in the US, with a turnover of 395,000 USD, equivalent to more than 9 billion VND. Rotten Tomatoes also has a few reviews, with up to 88% of critics giving positive reviews about the film.
