At the age of 23, Luong Dinh Dung's mother became seriously ill. Luong Dinh Dung agreed to take the university entrance exam so that his mother could close her eyes and rest in peace. According to friends, Luong Dinh Dung competed in Theater and Cinema School. That day, Luong Dinh Dung loved to study Directing, but when he saw that his graduation project cost about 5-7 million VND, he graduated from Scriptwriting without losing money, even getting 1.5 million VND. Luong Dinh Dung decided to choose Screenwriter.
