Who is
Literator Ong Van Tung?
Writer Mr. Van Tung is from Yen Lac, Nam Linh commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province. He was the third child in a long Confucian family with five siblings.
Carrying in his desire to be expressed to life in words, he could not bear the rigid and mechanical constraints of textbooks in the pedagogical environment he had previously chosen. After more than ten years of teaching, from 1982 to now, Mr. Van Tung has turned to translation and composing. He translated Chinese (Old Chinese and Han Jin), and composed mainly novels and short stories.
The theme of Mr. Van Tung's composition revolves around the fate of intellectuals, thereby expressing aspiration for society: wanting it to be better, more stable in both material and spiritual life. He truly considered literature a noble profession. Since 1981, he has lived alone, "living his own way, to do useful things first for himself and then for society". And of course, that useful job is writing. He worked hard, wrote hurriedly, drunk, as if he was afraid of not having time to express it all to life.
