Literator Son Nam?
Writer Son Nam's real name is Pham Minh Tai, he is a writer with many works written about the South. Therefore, he is often called by fans with the intimate name "the old man of the South", "the old man of Ba Tri". He has been a member of the Vietnam Writers' Association since 1957. He is also a journalist, famous cultural researchers.
Poetry collection "Rice rang" is the first work of writer Son Nam. The collection of poems was published in 1948 by the Resistance Culture Association Kien Giang published in 1948.
In 1951-1952, writer Son Nam won the first prize in a writing contest organized by the Southern Administrative and Resistance Committee with two short story works "Besides the Forest of Cu Lao Dung" and "Red Head West".
The collection of short stories "Scent of the forest Ca Mau" published in 1962, is a famous work associated with the family's name. Son Nam Van. He is also the author of many valuable research works on the South such as the History of Southern Reclamation, Ancient Ben Nghe, Ancient Gia Dinh Garden Civilization...
On August 13, 2008, writer Son Nam died at Ho Chi Minh City due to kidney failure, heart failure. heart rate and blood pressure drop. After his death, his daughter built a memorial house on a 1500m2 campus on the bank of Bao Dinh canal (Dao Thanh commune, My Tho, Tien Giang). This place was used by his family as a place of incense for him, and also for those who loved him to visit him.

In 1945, he joined the Young Pioneers activity. After that, he worked at the Provincial Cultural Association for National Salvation, the Political Department of the Military Region, the Office of the Arts and Propaganda Department of the Southern Party Committee.
After the 1954 Geneva Agreement, he returned to Rach Gia. In 1955, he went to Saigon to collaborate with newspapers: Humanity, Justice, Light, Voice bell, Reason...
In 1960-1961, writer Son Nam was imprisoned by the government of the Republic of Vietnam in Phu Loi Prison. After his release, he continued to work as a journalist, write and research about the South.
