From December 1976, Mr. Le Vinh Tan joined the army under orders to enlist in the army and then to January 1. In 1980, at this time, he was a logistics assistant for Battalion 502A of the Military Command of Dong Thap Province with the rank of Sergeant Major. He was officially discharged from the army.

On April 22, 2010, he was elected Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap Province in an extraordinary meeting to elect an additional Chairman. On September 28, 2015, he continued to be appointed Deputy Minister of Home Affairs by the Prime Minister. On April 8, 2016, he was officially appointed as Minister of the Interior until now.
