Red Rain is produced by People's Army Cinema in conjunction with Galaxy Studio, officially released on August 22, 2025. Movie Red Rain was broadcast nationwide by Vietnam Television and the Vietnam National Defense Television Channel in December 2025, providing an opportunity for a large audience nationwide to enjoy this work rich in historical and humanistic value. According to the broadcast schedule, the film is introduced at 9:00 p.m. on VTV3 channel, 7:00 p.m. on VTV8 channel and at 8:40 p.m. on QPVN channel.

Actors and character building

Red Rain brings together many talented faces:

• Do Nhat Hoang as Cuong - a brave young intellectual who puts aside his dream of books to enter the battlefield.

• Phuong Nam plays Ta, the resilient captain of Platoon 1 with a strong statement: "My squad consists of North, Central, and South - the whole country is invincible".

• Lam Thanh Nha plays Binh, a character with a deep heart, both strong and emotional.

• Dinh Khang as Tu, embodying simple but bright dreams in the midst of fire and smoke.

In addition, the audience also saw the appearance of Hua Vi Van, Lam Vissay, Than Thuy Ha, Le Thuy Ha... In particular, Yen Nhi portrays the image of Mrs. Nguyen Thi Binh with her calm and composed demeanor, leaves an unforgettable mark.

Red Rain realistically recreates the fierce scene of the Quang Tri battlefield, where every inch of land is soaked in blood and tears. The film's setting is meticulously invested: from the system of trenches, battlefields, to bridges and rivers - all are vividly recreated, making the audience feel like they are directly witnessing the battle.

A special feature is that the film not only stops at the severity of war, but also depicts teamwork, brotherhood and the desire for peace. The two main characters - Cuong and Quang - represent two different battlefields but share the same ideal of life and love for the country.

The message of Red Rain is a deep gratitude to those who have sacrificed and a reminder to today's generation of the value of peace.

Revenue and audience response

On the first day of release, Red Rain set a record with revenue of 40 billion VND, surpassing many blockbusters to become the Vietnam war film with the highest opening revenue. After the early screenings, the number continued to reach 25–30 billion VND, helping the film lead the box office and dominate the number of screenings nationwide.

The audience responded very positively:

• Many people shed tears during 124 minutes of watching the tragic journey on screen.

• Veterans who participated in the Quang Tri campaign were also choked with emotion when they saw their comrades recreated in realistic images.
