R Budd Dwyer, full name Robert Budd Dwyer, is an American politician located in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He served in the Pennsylvania State Senate as a member of the Republican Party from 1971-1981. He was treasurer of Pennsylvania from January 20, 1981 until his death. That day, he called a press conference and took his own life with a 357 Magnum gun while reporters were crowded there. This incident was broadcast on television throughout the state of Pennsylvania.
R Budd Dwyer took his own life because he was accused of accepting bribes in 1986. Expected 23 May 1987 will conclude his sentence, which is the day after he committed suicide.
