Cai Luong artist Thu Van's real name is Tran Thi Thu Van. Artist Thu Van was born in 1987 in Co Do district, Can Tho city.
When she was young, she listened to many operas as well as concert songs on tape and discs and then practiced singing along. Just like that, her singing talent was increasingly demonstrated and people encouraged her to participate in competitions.
At the age of 14, Thu Van participated in singing in many places to exchange and learn more experiences. After that, she participated in amateur music competitions at district and provincial levels to accumulate experience for herself.
By 2007, moving to the city. Ho Chi Minh participated in the hosting course, she registered to compete in the Golden Rice Award organized by VOH. As a result, she excellently won the silver medal.
With the encouragement and support of her family and friends, in 2008, she won a gold medal at the Nguyen Trong Quyen Moc Quan competition held in Can Tho city. Joy continued after joy when in 2009, the golden bell title in the Golden Bell Vong Co contest organized by HTV was named Tran Thi Thu Van. This is also an extremely important turning point in her artistic journey.
Artist Thu Van possesses a clear, sweet voice and has a knack for singing long Vong Co songs that are extremely unique and bring her own strangeness. Although she has not been trained through a professional school in acting, in return she always tries to constantly learn in each performance. That is proven through the plays she participated in in HTV's Golden Bell program as well as festivals and performances on the professional stage.
In 2012, for her role as Tha in the reformed play "Dong Remember", artist Thu Van received a silver medal at the National Professional Cai Luong Theater Festival. The role of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai in the class excerpt "Bright Faith Forever" helped her win a gold medal in the 2014 national professional opera and folk theater young talent contest.
In 2015, the gold medal came to her through Man's role in the play The Last Coma at the national professional Cai Luong Theater Arts competition. In 2017, in the program Road to Vong Co Famous Singer, she went through a hard training process with the guidance of elite artist coach Thoai My, so she deserved to be the champion.
In 2018, at the National Cai Luong Festival, artist Thu Van deserved to receive a gold medal for her role as Ut Mai in the play Love in Wartime.
Through the process of continuous training, artist Thu Van has affirmed her singing and acting ability in the hearts of the public, loved by audiences near and far. In 2019, she was honored to be one of the young artists to receive the title of outstanding artist. Not satisfied with her achievements, she always feels that she needs to learn more to have good songs and unique roles to send to audiences near and far.
