Writer Nhat Tien's real name is Bui Nhat Tien, born in Hanoi in a middle-class family, with 7 children (later two people who follow the literary career are Nhat Tien and Nhat Tuan). He currently lives in Santa Ana, California.
He is the former Vice President of the Vietnam Pen Center; Former member of the Council for Culture and Education of the Republic of Vietnam; Former Press Member of the Association of Former Vietnamese Teachers Overseas; Former Chairman of the Provisional Executive Committee of Vietnamese Literature Overseas, Southern California; General Secretary of Vietstream special magazine in Southern Cali since 2015.
In 2012, writer Nhat Tien has just completed 3 works called Journey to the Meanings, sketching out a literary journey of hers with moments embedded in the historical life of the Vietnamese nation. .

At the same time, he was also a lecturer at the Political Warfare Officer Training Center under the General Department of Political War of the Republic of Vietnam.
- In 1975 - 1979, he continued to teach physics and chemistry. at Hung Dao School.
- In 1980, he crossed the sea to seek refuge in Thailand and settled in California (USA). Here, he wrote and studied computing, then worked as a microcomputer repair specialist.
- From 2001 to 2010, he collaborated regularly with the weekly Viet Tide published in Vietnam. Southern California.
His wife is a writer and journalist Do Phuong Khanh.
