Violinist Pham Truong Son

From 2009-2013, he studied at Barratt Due Academy of Music in Oslo, Norway and with professor Edward Schmieder of the iPalpiti International Chamber Group and conductor Martin Chalifour of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 2014. Violinist Truong Son has performed at Suntory and concert halls. Opera City in Tokyo, Japan, Leo Frankel concert hall in Beverly Hills, USA. In addition, he also performed at many other concert halls in Europe, Thailand and China. He appeared as a soloist with the Hanoi String Orchestra and the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra. In addition, Truong Son was also a member of the Asian Youth Orchestra in 1993-1994 and took on the role of Principal Violin Section 2 and Principal of the Hanoi Symphony Orchestra from its founding in 1997 to present. Currently, he is a violin instructor and head of the String Ensemble department at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. In 2011, he was also invited to judge the international string competition in Thailand.

In 2009, Pham Truong Son founded the Song Hong quintet. Up to now, Song Hong has become one of the leading famous chamber music groups in Vietnam. He and the Song Hong Ensemble performed and were judges at the 2016 Music Festival and Music Competition called Ginastera in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
