Fidel Castro's full name is Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz, was the Prime Minister of Cuba from 1959 to 1976. He served as president of the Cuban Council of State and the sole secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba since 1965. -2011.
Fidel Castro is the son of a wealthy family, he graduated from university with a law degree. He became involved in politics when he was a student at the University of Havana. After that, he became known to the Cuban public and the world when he criticized the leadership of the President Fulgencio Batista and his influence on Cuban and American politics. It was also around this time that he was also known for opposing Batista. In 1953 he led the attack on Fort Moncada, which failed and Fidel Castro was arrested and imprisoned. After being freed, he traveled to Mexico to organize an attack on the Batista regime in Cuba. After the coup attempt ended successfully, Castro took power and overthrew the US-sponsored dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista and became Prime Minister of Caba. After that, he held important positions in the Cuban government such as Cuna Communist Party Secretary, President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers of Cuba. In addition, Castro holds the highest rank (Commander-in-Chief) in the Comandante en Jefe army of the Cuban armed forces.
July 31, 2006 Fidel Castro transferred his position to his younger brother, Raúl Castro, after undergoing gastrointestinal surgery. After his term of office ended, he continued to run for the position of president and commander-in-chief for the next term. On February 24, 2008, his younger brother, Mr. Raúl Castro was elected as the next President of Cuba.
During his political career, Fidel Castro is considered a "World Hero". He has received many awards and honorary medals from many countries around the world and is considered an inspiration for many other politicians. He is also listed in the list of revolutionaries, outstanding leaders of the second half of the 20th century.
At 22:29' on November 25, 2016 former Cuban prime minister, Fidel Castro was passed away. His body was cremated and buried in the city of Santiago de Cuba on December 4, 2016.
