In 1967, he once happened to see an advertisement for a Big Time wrestler. Wrestling Tony Santos (based in Boston). Rhodes immediately drove to Boston and applied to be an athlete thanks to his relationship with Bobby Duncum and the Funk brothers. His first fight was at the BTW World Heavyweight Wrestling tournament. His opponent was defending champion Frank Scarpa at the Boston Arena. Considered as someone who does not have a great appearance like other wrestlers, but Rhodes has conquered the audience with his ability, personality, and behavior.
He has won the NWA World champion three times. Heavyweight. He is a regular on WCW and is the champion of the United States Heavyweight Wrestling Championship. Dusty Rhodes has won numerous regional wrestling tournaments and is one of six inductees into the WWE, WCW, Professional Wrestling, and Wrestling Observer Newsletter Halls of Fame.
