Prior to becoming a professional wrestler, Scott was an amateur wrestler. He competed in the 190 lbs heavyweight division for the University of Michigan. In 2001 he appeared on the show Charmed on February 1, participating in "Mega Man" in the episode "Wrestling With Demons," with co-stars Booker T and Buff Bagwell. He also appeared on Disney Channel on The Jersey.
On June 3, 2007 on TNA in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rechsteiner, Scott was kicked in the head by his rival, Apolo. his throat. After Scott coughed up blood, he was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with a tear in his windpipe. After two days in a coma and undergoing surgery, his health is more stable.
