To Thanh Tung started composing when he was 19 years old, his first song was "Hong Ngu named after you". ". At the age of 20, he went to Saigon to study Law School. At a cafe near the school, he met a cashier girl named Diem, it was this girl who inspired him to write the article "Sad eyes of Diem". At the age of 19, he started composing. At the age of 20, he composed the famous song "Farewell". After 1975, he held the position of Head of Hong Ngu town's arts department for 3 years. After that, he had to sell everything from soap, oil, fish sauce... to bicycle parts to make a living.
