Peter Michael St Clair Harvey is an Australian journalist and broadcaster. He used to have a long time (38 years) working for "Nine Network" as a newspaper reporter. Harvey is also the recipient of the Centenary Medal in 2001 for his contributions to Australian society.
In October 2012, Harvey was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and his life. only lasted until 2 March 2013, he died at the private North Shore Hospital in Sydney at the age of 68.

Harvey grew up on Bellevue Hill near Bondi in Sydney and attended journalism training classes at Sydney newspaper The Daily Telegraph. In 1964, he received the Walkey Award; he then worked for various radio stations such as 2UE and 2GB before moving to London and working for BBC Radio. Some time later, he moved to work for The Guardian, where he won the "British Reporter of the Year" award for his articles on selling classified information. He is also a reporter who participated in the war in Vietnam.
In 1973, he became a full-time employee of Nine Network, then he also served as its news director in the Canberra office. Over the years, the department was in charge of many important news reports on the domestic situation as well as the Gulf wars. In February 1997, he moved from Canberra to the network's Sydney headquarters, where he became the weekly host of "Today and 60 Minutes". On April 27, 2014, he was inducted into the Logie Hall of Fame.

He is married to his wife Anne, with whom he has two children, Claire and Adam. And both of his children followed the career path of journalism; Currently Claire is deputy editor of The Sunday Telegraph and Adam is a correspondent for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney.
