Who is Composer Van Phung?
Musician Van Phung is considered as one of the best harmonizers of South Vietnamese music before 1975. He is the author of many famous lyrical works.
Van Phung's real name is Nguyen. Van Phung is the second child in a family of eight children. At the age of 15, he became famous when he won first prize in solo piano with La Pirière d'une Viege. At the age of 16, he passed the baccalaureate exam but dropped out of medical school to follow the path of music.
In 1948, musician Van Phung released his first work "O Me Ly" with a vibrant rhythm, elated with love of life. This song was performed by him on the stage of many discos in Hanoi. Today, this song is no longer strange to the Vietnamese public, because many singers choose this song to perform.
From 1954 - 1955, musician Van Phung emigrated to the South and became the conductor of the Army Radio. He is also the person in charge of the music program on Saigon Radio.
Songwriter Van Phung also composed many folk songs such as "Morning Moon in Tea Garden" (poetry Nguyen Binh), "You guys go" (poem Hoang Trung Thong), "Sad night", "Remembering Da Giang wharf"...
He has arranged many songs in many famous and watched tapes was one of the best orchestral musicians of Saigon at that time.
In 1978, musician Van Phung and his family settled in Jakarta, Indonesia.
In 1994, the center Thuy Nga performed Paris By Night 27: Van Phung - Singing with Bow and Music Doctor Van Phung died on December 17, 1999, due to diabetes.

Musician Van Phung studied piano with two professors Perrier and Ms. Vuong. In 1945, Van Phung won the first prize for solo piano solo in a selection at the Hanoi Opera House with the piece "La Prière d'Une Vierge".
When he was at school, musician Van Phung was always an excellent student. At the age of 16, after graduating from Baccalaureate, Van Phung studied medicine because of his father's wishes. But after only one year, Van Phung dropped out of school to pursue music.
In 1946, during a chaotic run to Nam Dinh, Van Phung stayed at Tu Trung church in Cho Con and he met a spirit. section Mai Xuan Dinh. The priest taught him music and catechesis.
In 1948, Van Phung returned to Hanoi and joined the Military Band of the Third Battalion of Honor.

When he was young, he fell in love with a Hanoi girl named Chau Ha. The love was beautiful, but because Van Phung's family forbade it, Chau Ha resentfully married and followed her husband to Saigon to forget the past.
Not long after, musician Van Phung was also married to his parents. His wife is a Hanoian who is famous for being "beautiful and beautiful" and is loved by her parents-in-law. The couple had 5 daughters and 1 son together. The thought that life has been peaceful since then, but the old love prompted Van Phung to find his first love.
Van Phung entered the South, then Chau Ha became a singer specializing in singing at radio stations and tea rooms. The two meet again and it seems that the love has not stopped. Initially because of family ties, there were gossip and disagreements around, but then they overcame all obstacles and returned to each other. They have created a love couple in the Vietnamese music industry. Van Phung and Chau Ha have 2 daughters together.
