Who is Historians Dao Duy Anh?
Dao Duy Anh is a famous historian, linguist, cultural researcher, folklore of Vietnam. He is considered the pioneer of many social sciences in Vietnam. He has made many contributions to the national culture of the country.
During more than 60 years of teaching and researching about the country's cultural history, Dao Duy Anh has left behind many valuable works. Specifically, he has done more than 30 works on research and translation of ancient texts, printed into more than 60 volumes starting in 1927
Not only is he an eminent historian, a dedicated teacher, Dao Duy Anh is also passionate about dictionaries and translations.
He has released a dictionary:

• Chinese - Vietnamese dictionary (1932)
• French - Vietnamese Dictionary (1936)
• Dictionary of Tales of Kieu (completed in 1965, published in 1974

After accepting the assignment of Professor of Literature University in Hanoi, Vietnam). Noi (in 1946) he was more focused on research on the history of the country, he produced 3 most important works:

• The Ministry of Ancient History of Vietnam in 1955 consisted of 8 chapters
  
• The Ministry of History of Vietnam in 1957 consists of 56 chapters,
  
• The Ministry of the Country of Vietnam through generations in 1964 includes 15 chapters

Professor Dao Duy Anh is an extremely inquisitive person. Wherever he finds valuable books, he tries to find and study the quintessence. National history and national culture make each of us respect. He was mentioned as one: “Dao Duy Anh is a big name in modern encyclopedias”
In 1988 he passed away in Hanoi and lived a long life. 84 years old
Until 2000. Dao Duy Anh deserves the 2nd Ho Chi Minh Prize.
His name has been given to the streets at Hanoi city, Ho Chi Minh, Thanh Hoa, Ha Long to descendants remember his great merit.

From a young age, Dao Duy Anh was eager to learn letters, he studied Chinese for 4 years and at the age of 11 started elementary school. But by the age of 19, he had graduated from Quoc Hoc Hue School.
Like other young people of the same age, when living in a feudal society, poor people were oppressed and brutally exploited. He participated in the national liberation movement, against the French colonialists. He joined the founding of the Tan Viet Party when he was 23 years old. After working effectively, he was elected General Secretary of the Tan Viet revolutionary party. However, under the brutal persecution and hunting of the French colonialists, he was arrested and imprisoned. After his release, he participated in revolutionary activities in the field of culture, contributing to raising people's knowledge.
After the August Revolution, he taught History at Hanoi University of Literature.

Dao Duy Anh's family has a tradition of studiousness. His younger brother, Dao Duy Ky, is also a famous cultural researcher.
