Stephen Nguyen, full name Nguyen Stephen Bradley Huy, born in 2001, is one of the young model faces that received attention after winning the Champion title The Next Face Vietnam 2021. Possessing outstanding height, his face has mixed features Vietnam – Scotland and the story of overcoming difficult circumstances to pursue art, Stephen quickly made his own mark in the Vietnamese fashion industry. Notably, after many years of working as a model, in 2026 he continued to expand his artistic path when he became a member of the music group OGG.
He has a height of about 1m83, body measurements are 96–74–98 cm. With his typical Western appearance, angular face and fashion-appropriate physique, Stephen made an impression right from the moment he appeared at The Next Face Vietnam 2021. He has Vietnamese and Scottish blood. It is this special hybrid trait that helps Stephen quickly attract the attention of the audience as well as the mentors in the program. Some articles during The Next Face Vietnam 2021 even compared his facial features with actor Leonardo DiCaprio. However, what makes Stephen's story remarkable is not only his appearance but also his rather arduous journey before entering the modeling profession.
Before becoming known on the stage, Stephen went through a difficult time in life. According to his sharing on HTV's Moments of Life program, due to family circumstances, Stephen had to leave school early and start working to help his relatives. He used to go to Cambodia and Malaysia to do many labor jobs to earn money to take care of his mother and sister. At that time, a modeling career was hardly in Stephen's plans. He also hasn't had any formal training in fashion or performance. Some people around him noticed the advantage of Stephen's appearance and advised him to try his hand at modeling or acting. However, because he was struggling to make a living abroad, he could not immediately pursue an artistic path.
The turning point came when Stephen returned to Vietnam and decided to try The Next Face Vietnam 2021. This is a program to find new faces for the fashion industry, gathering many contestants with outstanding appearances and well-trained training. Right from the first rounds, Stephen attracted attention thanks to his height and Western face. He was interested in both H'Hen Niê and TyhD Thuy Duong, but in the end chose to join H'Hen Nie's team. Under the guidance of the queen, Stephen gradually improved his performance skills, posing in front of the camera and how to express his personality in challenges.
The special thing is that Stephen entered the contest with a starting point unlike many other contestants. He once admitted that he was quite quiet, introverted and lacked confidence when standing in front of the camera. The fact that he has not had professional modeling training also makes him have to put in more effort during the competition. Through each episode, Stephen gradually shows progress. His outstanding appearance combined with his ability to adapt helps him become one of the notable contestants of team H'Hen Niê. He is considered one of the team's "war horses" and has many times contributed to helping the team achieve good results in challenges.
At the final of The Next Face Vietnam 2021, Stephen Nguyen entered the final group of contestants and was finally named as Champion. However, there is an important detail that is often overlooked when mentioning his title: Stephen Nguyen is not the only Champion of the season. The Next Face Vietnam 2021 finals created a special result when the organizers awarded two champions to Stephen Nguyen of team H'Hen Niê and Pham Phan Y Ha of team Luong Thuy Linh. Therefore, the correct way to call Stephen Nguyen is the co-champion of The Next Face Vietnam 2021.
This title became a major turning point in Stephen's career. From a guy who had to work many jobs to support his family, he officially entered the fashion industry as a known face to the public. After The Next Face Vietnam, Stephen began to appear more often in fashion activities. He participated in Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week and performed for many Vietnamese designers. Among the designers who have collaborated with Stephen are Adrian Anh Tuan, Nguyen Tien Truyen, Le Long Dung and Vuong Khang.
At Vietnam International Fashion Week 2021, Stephen appeared in many collections such as Tap, Follow The Chemistry and Vietnam Brilliant Brocade. Possessing outstanding height and physique, he is able to adapt to many different fashion styles, from suits, masculine outfits to artistic and editorial designs.
In 2022, Stephen continued to gain attention when he became the face of designer Vuong Khang's Under The Sea - Fall Winter 2022 show in Phan Rang, Ninh Thuan. Images of Stephen wearing oversized designs, suits and pearl-embellished outfits continue to show his advantage in the field of visual fashion.
Not only active on the catwalk, Stephen also participates in many fashion photo shoots and image projects. In August 2022, he appeared with young model Bao Ha in a Mid-Autumn Festival photo set. The concept of the photo series combines traditional Vietnamese materials with modern fashion, giving Stephen more opportunities to show off his ability in front of the camera in the field of fashion editorial.
Besides fashion, Stephen Nguyen also tried his hand at acting in music products. In 2024, he appeared in the MV Alone by Lamoon Diem Hang, Top 6 Vietnam Idol 2023. In the MV, Stephen plays Lamoon's boyfriend and has many emotional scenes with the female singer. Their appearance with Lamoon once attracted attention because their appearance was quite suitable for the image of a couple in a music product. However, this is a plot created for the MV and should not be seen as evidence of a real-life relationship between Stephen and Lamoon.
