Nicole Nguyen was born and raised in the US in a family with a strong attachment to Vietnamese culture. From a young age, her parents exposed her to Vietnamese music programs and often listened to Vietnamese songs in the family. It was those familiar melodies that helped Nicole form a love for Vietnamese music from an early age, while maintaining a connection to the Vietnamese language and culture of her homeland despite growing up in a Western environment.
The family also creates conditions for Nicole to develop her artistic talent. She studied singing, played musical instruments and participated in choir activities. Singing was initially a personal passion, but over time it gradually became the female singer's career orientation. In her journey of pursuing art, family has always been an important support for Nicole. In particular, her mother often accompanies her daughter in performance activities and takes on many jobs behind the stage such as manager, assistant, costume and makeup support.
Before becoming widely known to Vietnamese audiences through television, Nicole Nguyen spent time working in music in the US. In 2018, she made two albums with the support of musician Phuc Truong. The products are built according to different musical colors, including ballads and dance/remixes. This is considered one of the milestones showing that Nicole soon had a serious orientation toward singing. While working in the US, Nicole continued to perform, practice her vocal skills and gain stage experience.
However, the most important turning point in her career came in 2025 when the female singer decided to participate in the Trans-Vietnam Love Song program. Here, Nicole Nguyen quickly attracted attention because of her ability to sing well in Vietnamese even though she was born and raised in America. For her, singing in Vietnamese is not simply a performing skill but also a way to express her affection for her homeland and her family's culture. The journey on the show gives Nicole the opportunity to meet many artists, try out Vietnamese songs and prove her abilities in front of a large domestic audience.
In the show, Nicole received support from singer Dee Tran and the two had many notable collaborations. At the final night taking place on September 21, 2025, Nicole performed the song Love Like a Leaf Flying Away with Dee Tran and performed solo the song Paradise. The duet Love is like a leaf flying away made an impression when Nicole received two perfect 10 points from Kyo York and famous singer Ngoc Son. After the final competitions, Nicole Nguyen won the runner-up position in the first season of Trans-Vietnamese Love Song, while JunTae from Korea won the Champion position.
The runner-up title became an important milestone to help Nicole become known to more Vietnamese audiences. After the contest, the female singer had more opportunities to work in Vietnam and gradually built her own image instead of just being remembered as a contestant on a TV show.
