A New York Times best-selling author, he is particularly known for his novels about contemporary African-American life. His most famous works include An Affair Accident (2012), Sister, Sister (1996), Liar Game (2000), and Paradise Thieves" (2002). In addition to his popular novels, he Wrote a six-issue miniseries of X-Men comic books focusing on the characters of Storm and Black Panther.
