Singer, guitarist and songwriter who rose to prominence during the late 1960s and early 1970s. A founding member of the popular English rock band Badfinger, he wrote and performed hits such as "Day After" Day" and "Baby Blue".
Two albums containing his previously unreleased material - Golders Green and Seven Stone Avenue- -. was released after his death in late 1990

He formed a band called The Welsh Iveys (or, originally, The Panthers) in 1961. The band, which was later signed to the Beatles' label, was renamed Badfinger in 1969.
He committed suicide at the age of twenty-seven, while pregnant with his first child. His daughter Petera was born just a month after his death.
