Who is Vietnamese Emperor Tu Duc?
Tu Duc, born Nguyen Phuc Thi, also known as Nguyen Phuc Hong Nham, was the fourth king of the Nguyen dynasty. As a king with the longest reign of the Nguyen Dynasty, from 1847 to 1883. He was honored with the temple name Nguyen Duc Tong.

In 1850, he appointed Nguyen Tri Phuong to be the Kinh Chi ambassador of Cochinchina province, Phan Thanh Gian to be the Kinh strategy of Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan, Nguyen Dang Giai as Nghe An Ambassador, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa. These officials will go to observe the business in the folk and then submit reports to the king. However, Tonkin had 40 rebellions under King Tu Duc.
