Who is Architect Charles Correa?
Responsible for bringing modern architecture for the following independent India. He received the Padma Shri in 1972 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2006. In 1984, the Royal Institute of British Architects awarded the Royal Gold Medal for his architecture.
His concern against the urban poor and the need for low-cost out-of-home accommodation made him founded the Urban Design Research Institute in 1984.
