Who is Architect Vann Molyvann?
The first fully fledged Cambodian architect of the Khmer New Era, who designed the State Palace and Council of Ministers building. He also designed Cambodia's largest sports venue, 60,000 seat, Olympic quality national sports complex.
His heyday was from 1955 to 1970 during the Sangkum Reastr Niyum regime when His Highness Norodom Sihanouk has initiated a kingdom wide development policy dedicated to upgrading all infrastructure and architecture and building new cities.

He originally intended to study law, but he eventually attended Paris' School of Fine Arts instead. He also studied in the Arretche studio. He was named Truong Cong and State Architect by the Prince upon his return to his hometown in 1956.
He was born in Cambodia province in Kampot province. After the bloody general Lon Nol led a coup in 1970, he brought his family to Switzerland , where he was recruited into the United Nations Human Settlements Program for a decade.
