Who is Composer Thu Ho?
Composer Thu Ho is considered one of the pioneering musicians for the popularization and development of new music in South Vietnam. Thu Ho's real name is Ho Thu, he is the father of female singer My Huyen. Thu Ho works in many fields, he is a famous singer-songwriter, a talented playwright, an actor and a famous poet who has been elected as "Ambassador of Peace Poetry".
In 1943, Thu Ho started composing his first song "Quo Me", at that time he was working as the head of Dau Giay train station. In 1947, the new Neural Music Band was born. Composer Thu Ho is one of the first Vietnamese musicians to be admitted as a member of the S. A. C. E. M International Composers Association (based in France). He was also a member of the founding committee of the Fatima - Binh Trieu parish where he lived.
Thu Ho was also a famous playwright and a top actor at that time. He was the main actor in many plays composed by himself, such as "Two boys in one shirt" and "The reluctant healer". On October 14, 1993, a music night called "Night of Motherland" was held at the dance school Ritz in Anaheim (Cali) to mark the 50th anniversary of the song "Motherland".
