Who is Music teacher Nghiem Phu Phi?
Nghiem Phu Phi is a musician and arranger. He is the arranger for many epic songs by famous musicians such as: "Hon Vong phu" by Le Thuong, "Vietnamese mother" and "The important road" by Pham Duy, "The association of yang" of. Pham Dinh Chuong, "Half of a Sorrowful Soul" by Pham Dinh Chuong, "Midnight on the Street" by Truc Phuong.
He is the one who is trusted by musician Hoang Thi Tho and invited to collaborate in performances in the country. as well as touring abroad. Mixing and performing ethnic music is also something that Nghiem Phu Phi cherishes even though he graduated from the West, and does not know how to use traditional Vietnamese instruments.
With her talent, Nghiem Phu Phi harmonized the songs of singers, helping them become more famous as singers: Nhat Truong, Truong Tu Thieng, Hoang Oanh...
The event of April 30, 1975 happened, and there were artists and writers who took refuge in many parts of the world. But Nghiem Phu Phi Lai was unlucky, so he had to stay in Hanoi. At first, it was very difficult, he worked as a piano teacher at Huyen Si church and at home. In 1985, he moved to the US to settle down, and just a few months later, Nghiem Phu Phi established a music school on Bolsa Street, the main road of the capital of overseas Vietnamese refugees. He actively participated in the rescue of boat people and continued to open a music school with more than a hundred students who were all compatriots.
On January 16, 2008, while preparing to go to the funeral of his close friend, actor Le Quynh, he fell in the bathroom and died.

As a child, Nghiem Phu Phi was taught music theory by musician Nguyen Van An and introduced him to piano lessons with musician Vo Duc Thu. Thanks to that, when he was 15 years old in high school, he was able to play the piano at night to earn extra money.
At the age of 19, he went to France to study at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. During this period of study, he was invited to compose music for a Vietnamese film: One Page Diary.
At the end of 1954, he graduated with honors and returned to Saigon to open piano and piano lessons for tea rooms/clubs, composing music for VTVN radio and TVTV stations. In addition, he composed music for many color films at that time.
In 1965, he was appointed Deputy Director of the National School of Music and Drama. In 1970, he became the Director to replace musician Do The Phiet.
