- In 1972, Truong Dang Dung set foot on the capital, to go to Hungary to study Literature at Eotvos Lorand University Budapest.
- In 1978, he graduated from the university. , returned home and worked at the Institute of Literature.
In 1981, he returned to Hungary as a PhD student and defended his doctoral thesis at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1984.
In 1991, Truong Dang Dung returned to Hung again to practice, and in 1994, he returned completely.- In 1996, he was conferred the title of Associate Professor of Literature.
