Tran Viet Hung is a hero of the Vietnam War and a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He used to hold the position of lieutenant, head of information of the staff room, provincial team Ben Tre.
From 1948 to April 1965, he was an information officer of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee. From May 1965 to April 1975, he was the head of the provincial information department. He built and organized a radio communication network in 6 districts, 2 battalions and 1 regiment of the province. In addition, he also made a great contribution to ensuring communication from the province to the Command of the Military Region, the Regional Command and the transport route of weapons from the border to the delta.
Tran Viet Hung always closely follows the fighting units, solves many difficult situations, ensures a smooth information network, meets the requirements of assigned tasks. From 1970 to 1971, when the enemy army pacified fiercely, he was assigned the task of organizing a radio communication system using a PRC-25 machine obtained from the enemy. Despite his poor health, he persisted in directing soldiers to transport vehicles to locations, providing professional instructions, and ensuring smooth information.
In the spring of 1975, he had well prepared and consolidated the information system in the province. By May 15, 1975, the information network under his management had been stabilized and put into operation, saving millions of dong for public funds.
Tran Viet Hung was awarded by the State the First-class and third-class Liberation War Medals, 4 times elected as an emulation soldier, 4 times won the title of Hero, 20 certificates of merit.
On November 6, 1978, Tran Viet Hung was conferred the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State.
