Known best for his work with the 1950s and 60s Nashville A-Team songwriters, this bassist and orchestra conductor recorded with Elvis Presley, Arthur Fiedler, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bob Dylan, and many other famous musicians. With his Bob Moore orchestra, he recorded the 1961 hit single 'Mexico. '
In the mid-1990s, Life magazine gave him the title of "The Country's Most All-Time Bassist."

He fathered four children, including a daughter, Linda Faye Moore, who won the title of Miss Tennessee and performed with a country band called Calamity Jane, and a son, R. Stevie Moore , who had a rock music career.
