Van Kien fell in love with Pencak Silat by accident. In 2013, when he was in 9th grade, the physical education teacher introduced him to the gifted class of the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center. Surprisingly, he was accepted and studied this subject. After only 2 months of hard training, he was able to compete in the national youth Pencak Silat tournament.
The more he participates in the competition, the more enthusiastic he becomes and reaps many prestigious awards. Among them are awards such as:
+ 5 consecutive years of winning a gold medal at the National Championship.
+ Gold Medal at the 2016 Asian Championships.
+ 2 times won bronze at the World Championships in 2016 and 2019

To With such admirable achievements, the young athlete also had to make great efforts to overcome the thorns and challenges. Typically, at the time before competitions, he has to practice regularly and perform a "weight-squeezing" mode. Even in order to squeeze weight effectively, he also had to wear a raincoat to run outside regardless of whether it was raining or sunny, hot or cold. And for a long time, he couldn't even eat his favorite food, instead adjusting to a pre-programmed diet. It is so difficult, but with determination, perseverance and great encouragement from his family, he has achieved the success it is today.
Currently. Currently, he has a certain foothold in the sports industry and even owns his own King MMA clip club. Sharing a little more about his future plans, the young athlete said that after graduating from school he will focus on developing his club even more. Besides, he will build a home for himself!
