Who is Composer Khanh Bang?
Khanh Bang's real name is Pham Van Minh, is a Vietnamese musician. His stage name is a combination of the names of two classmates from elementary school, one is Khanh, adding a "sacred" sign to form the word Khanh and the other is Bang Thanh Khanh Bang. He also used other pseudonyms to compose such as Anh Minh, Nhat Ha.
Musician Khang Bang has been composing since he was in elementary school. However, many of his compositions have not been performed in public, and he himself does not remember the name of his first music. Until the song "Innocent smile" through the vocals of singer Minh Trang and Anh Ngoc was broadcast on Saigon Radio on March 15, 1955, then the public knew about musician Khanh Bang.
In 1956, the song "Vong green day" by musician Khanh Bang was born. The song has been chosen by many famous singers of this period to perform such as Minh Trang, Le Thu, Hung Cuong, Thai Thanh... presented, in which the most successful performance was female singer Thai Thanh. This song was written by famous French writer Françoise Sagan. The world-wide popularity of "Hope for a Green Day" helped musician Khanh Bang be invited to join the World Copyright Association.
Since 1962, musician Khanh Bang has written many fast-paced and exciting songs such as: Dreaming winter, Do you remember any night, The sound of falling rain... Particularly the song "Sorrow winter" The author has added French lyrics and English lyrics written by another person.
Musician Khanh Bang has left a great legacy on the work. According to Khanh Bang, the number of songs he already knows is too small to say 500, but 1,000 is a bit too much.
He died on February 9, 2005 at his home on the street Chu Van An, Saigon. His body was buried in his hometown Vung Tau. Before his death, he suffered from diabetes, then went blind.

In 1949, Khanh Bang attended high school at Huynh Khuong Ninh and Da Kao schools in Saigon. Khanh Bang and some friends formed a band together that regularly rehearsed and played for free for weddings.
In 1954, with the guidance and help of musician Vo Duc Thu, Khanh Bang's mandoline passed the entrance exam to become a musician at Saigon Radio. Then, recommended by Tung Lam to the artist Tran Van Trach, he played in the Sam Giang troupe and and then at Radio France Asia.
