From 1962-1963, he attended the Central Technical Workers' School. After graduating from school, he worked at an irrigation site Cam Ly.
In 1966, he returned to the Department of Culture and Information as an officer, head of the department, deputy director and then director. In 1973 - 1974, he attended the School of Writers' Association, Course VI, and was the Editor-in-Chief of Nhat Le magazine.
