In 1961, after graduating from the Saigon School of Music and Drama, he went to France to study music at the Sorbonne University with the dream of becoming a famous violinist in France and in Vietnam. In France, professor of violinist Yehudi Menuhin instructs. He also studied other ethnic musical instruments at universities: Louvre, Sorbonne in (Paris - France, Cambridge University in London - UK. He graduated with a doctorate in Vietnamese folk music. in France.
Since 1968, he has worked for the National Center for Scientific Research at the Museum of Man (Musée de l'Homme) in Paris - France.
