After winning an Emmy Award for his portrayal of Burt Campbell on the ABC soap, the popular actor won a Golden Globe Award and a second Emmy Award for his role as Dr. Harry Weston on NBC's Empty Nest. He also famously appeared as General Custer in the 1970 film Little Big Man.
Although he often played small roles in films, he played the role of farmer Felix in the 1981 film S. O.B.
