Who is Vietnam War Hero Lam Uy?
Lam Uy is a deputy infantry squadron of 325th Battalion, a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Lam Uy was born into a poor peasant family in Quang Binh. From an early age, he had to live and work as hired laborers to make a living. In September 1945, Lam Uy participated in revolutionary activities, volunteered to join the Southern advance army operating in Binh - Tri - Thien.
From February 1947 to May 1950, Comrade participated in 30 battles, in battle, he was also brave, courageous, and clever, in any situation he was still determined to successfully complete the task. Even though he was still alone, he still fought bravely. Without a gun, he used a machete, a gun ran out of ammunition, and he rushed to fight the enemy directly and he achieved many victories.

Lam Uy's unit was ordered to cross the river to ambush the enemy. Lam Uy volunteered to take the lead, went to the side of the river, comrades and units quickly rushed to destroy the enemy, occupying a good position to make a stand ready to continue fighting. The unit was able to repel more than 10 attacks of the enemy within 9am to 2pm. At this time, our ammunition was almost out and many soldiers were seriously injured, Lam Uy always encouraged his teammates to fight hard. Lam Uy alone rushed in to pick up the enemy's grenades for the soldiers to fight, thanks to that, our troops were able to repel two more waves of enemy counterattacks. But then the grenades ran out, he immediately raised the slogan of using bayonets, butts to fight to the end. Comrade Lam Uy was awarded the Second-class Victory Medal, and was awarded many times by the Union. commended by the region and the Resistance Committee.
On August 31, 1955, Lam Uy was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State, and the Second-class Military Merit Order.
