Who is Literator Phan Tu?
Writer Phan Tu's real name is Le Kham, from Quy Nhon town, Binh Dinh Province. He is one of the outstanding writers on the topic of revolutionary war. He was closely attached, lived and sacrificed for the revolution and the country and wrote thousands of pages of books, making a worthy contribution to the overall achievement of the country's revolutionary literature.
He died on April 17, 1995 in Da Nang city.
He was awarded by the State of Vietnam: the Third Class Independence Medal; Victory Medal First Class; Order of the Resistance War against America for National Salvation, First Class; Order of the Glorious Soldier, First, Second and Third Class.

Young / Before famous

  • Born in Binh Dinh, but as a child, Phan Tu lived in his father's hometown in Que Phong, Que Son, Quang Nam. From a young age, he was quite good at literature and French. At the age of 15, he joined the volunteer propaganda team of Quang Nam province and took part in robbing the local government during the August Revolution.
  • In 1950, he joined the army and attended school. Tran Quoc Tuan Army School, Central Branch (Con Kenh, Tho Xuan, Nong Cong, Nhu Xuan, Thanh Hoa).
  • After graduating, at the end of 1951, he was assigned to join the Vietnamese volunteer army to fight in the Lower Laos battlefield.
  • In 1954, he gathered to the North. After that, he attended the Faculty of Literature, Hanoi University in 1958. In the same year, he wrote the book "Beyond the Border" under the pseudonym Le Kham, writing about the fight of Vietnamese volunteers in Lower Laos. Not long after that, he continued to introduce the book "Before the shooting", in 1960.
  • In 1961, after graduating, he was assigned to return to work. He worked in the Southern battlefield, worked as a propaganda envoy of the Inter-regional Party Committee V, member of the Party Committee of the Region 5 Arts and Culture, and wrote under the pseudonym Phan Tu. This pseudonym became famous associated with his later works.
  • Due to poor health and affected by toxic chemicals, in 1966 he was withdrawn to the North for medical treatment, working at the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts, then after that holds the position of acting editor-in-chief of Liberation Publishing House.
  • In 1970, he was admitted as a member of the Vietnam Writers' Association.
  • After 1975, he returned to live and work in his hometown of Quang Nam.
  • He used to be the Chairman of the Quang Nam - Da Nang Literature and Art Association; Member of the Executive Committee of the Writers' Union, Member of the Secretariat (Standing Committee) of the Executive Committee of the Writers' Union, term III.
