Who is Monks Thich Nhat Hanh?
Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh's real name is Nguyen Xuan Bao. He is a Zen master, a writer, poet, and social activist.
From an early age, he was brought to live in a temple, from which he became enlightened in Buddhism and began to practice Zen. He studied meditation according to the Mahayana school of Buddhism and officially became a monk in 1949.
In 1966, he was given a seal by Zen Master Chan Chan at Tu Hieu pagoda and from here he started. become a Zen master. He has combined knowledge from many different schools of meditation such as the Theravada tradition, insight from Mahayana Buddhism, and the discoveries of contemporary Western psychology so that everyone can access it. At the age of 16, Thich Nhat Hanh left home and studied Buddhism.
During his cultivation and missionary work, the country was at war. He participated in many activities calling for peace. He was the leader of the Buddhist delegation to the Paris Peace Negotiations. After that, he also traveled the world and imparted his Zen knowledge to a large number of people. He always directs people to the right, respect, listen and learn from each other. He always carried out activities for peaceful purposes.
When the Paris Agreement was signed, he was forbidden to return to Vietnam. However, in 2005 after a series of negotiations, he returned to Vietnam and lectured to many monks and nuns and Buddhists in the country.
