Literator Bao Ninh?
Bao Ninh, whose real name is Hoang Au Phuong, is a Vietnamese writer known for his novels and short stories. He has been a member of the Vietnam Writers' Association since 1997.
Bao Ninh's short story "Camp Seven Dwarfs" was published in 1987. Also in this year, he published the novel " The Body of Love" was later renamed to "The Sorrow of War ". This novel was warmly received by the audience and won the Vietnam Writers Association Award. The content of the novel revolves around the character Kien, a soldier. With the post-war developments with two streams of war memories interwoven with the love story between Kien and a classmate named Phuong. The novel gave the audience a new perspective on the war, while highlighting the characters' thoughts. "The Sorrow of War" after its debut was highly appreciated by experts and received much praise. "The Sorrow of War" was also translated into English by Frank Palmos and Phan Thanh Hao with the title "The Sorrow of War", and published in 1994. However, after more than 10 years of publication, this novel has been banned and not reprinted.
In 2005, "The Sorrows of War" was republished for the first time with the title "The Condition of Love", and in 2006 it was re-published as "The Sorrows of War" paintings".
Writer Bao Ninh also has a number of other typical works such as: the story "Engraving the side of the boat" or "Betray" in the collection of stories "Van Moi". The story "Carving the side of the boat" has been made into a movie.

In 1969, Bao Ninh started to enlist in the army, he worked mainly in the 5th Battalion, 24th Regiment, 10th Division at the B-3 Central Highlands front.
In 1975, Bao Ninh was discharged from the army. After that, Bao Ninh attended university in Hanoi. After graduating from university, he was accepted to work at the Vietnam Academy of Sciences.
Bao Ninh studied in the second course of Nguyen Du School of Literature from 1984-1986. After that, he worked at the newspaper Young Arts .
