Who is Vietnamese modern writer Nguyen Ngoc?
Nguyen Ngoc's real name is Nguyen Van Bau. He is a writer who has made great contributions to Vietnamese literature. He is the author of the works "Xa Nu Forest" and "The country stands up". Not only is a famous writer, Nguyen Ngoc also participates in newspaper writing, editor, translator, research on education culture of Vietnam. Nguyen Ngoc was promoted to Colonel. He used to hold the positions of Deputy General Secretary of Vietnam Writers Association, Editor-in-Chief of Van Nghe newspaper.
After the Geneva Agreement, writer Nguyen Ngoc began to write the novel "The country stood up". This is a famous novel by Nguyen Ngoc, the work is about the Ba Na people's resistance against the French, typically the heroic character Hide and the villagers of Kong-Hoa. The novel is a work based on the true story of the hero Dinh Nup. The work "The country rose up", was later made into a movie about the hero Hide.
In 1962, Nguyen Ngoc returned to work in Zone V, and was elected Chairman of the Central Central Coast Liberation Arts Association. He was in charge of the Art Magazine of the Liberation Army of Military Region V. and also during this time, he took the pseudonym Nguyen Trung Thanh to create the famous work "Xa Nu Forest".
Writer Nguyen Ngoc also actively participates in cultural research, preserving national identity and revitalizing Vietnamese education. He has translated a number of literary theoretical works such as The Zero of Writing (Rolland Barthes), The Art of Fiction (Milan Kundera), works of philosophers Jean-Paul Sartre, Jacques Dournes...
In 2013, Nguyen Ngoc's pen signed "My friends are up there", writing about the Central Highlands, was awarded the prose prize by the Hanoi Writers' Association.
In 2011, writer Nguyen Ngoc withdrew his name from the list of nominations for the Ho Chi Minh Prize. On May 12, 2015, writer Nguyen Ngoc and 19 announced their resignation from the Vietnam Writers Association since May 11, 2015.
